Question

Posted

Hi,

I'm in the process of changing my existing water meter and i would like to install something with Z-Wave capabilities.

I read about the

and how it is supposed to work with Sensus Residia Jet-C.

Before spending more then 100 EUR for the Residia Jet-C + Z-Wave water meter instead of just buying a 10 EUR regular water meter, does anyone has any experience with these?

Or any other suggestion of a Z-Wave enabled water meter that works with HC2 latest FW ?

Thank you

I am also considering this solution. So here are at least two of interested ones.

Maybe Fibaro would give us some input on this as there might be wider interest on this solution.

I have this combination for a week running. It is included in HC2 with the right template, but I don't get any updates from the meter, it stays on 0 (and temp on 23). I have to test some more to see what is wrong.

It works well with template from 4,081

I just realized the Residia Jet-C is limited at 2.5mc/h and that is has 3/4 connections, not 1" as i need.

But i think i found another way , even better.

    Install a

which can be fitted with a pulser reed for remote readout.

    This one :

It is a NO contact that gets triggered every 10 liters that pass through the meter.  And attach a Fibaro UBS and do some script to count the pulses.

    Any thoughts ?

Just for information, I just installed the water meter from the above post with a reed sensor and a fibaro UBS and it works like a charm

@Momos Hi, can you describe your system in a little more detail? Because the links are already non-working. Thank you!

Ahaha links are not working as the topic is 5 years old ?

Just get any water meter with a reed sensor.  I got the Zenner MNK-N with the reed sensor.  The reed sensor sends an impulse every 10 or 100 liters. So if you connect that at the input of a smart implant you see thata impulse.  From there it just a matter of adding the impulses to count the total consumption.

this topic gotme triggered as well, since the watermeter is almost the only 'dumb' device in my house ;-)

I need to use a Sensus pulse counter on the meter, does this work together with the smart implant? In lua I can than start counting pulses/litres.

Although I knew it should work, I still was a bit surprised the sensor did read the little red blade of my dumb water meter. And it doesn’t misses a liter.

No, took the easy road. ? I already had the Raspberry Pi running with tzatz.nl software. With the P1 Monitor quickapp I have all the data in the HC3.
