I'm with you on the swipe, no real use case for me so it sits on my shelf along with my black minimote, white minimote, Philio Button and nodon octan remote for possible future projects

My supplier has told me the button will be €50 in ireland and available in a few weeks

I don't think I'll be ordering one of them.. [ no more room on the shelf :-) ]

I don't think anyone will claim it is not an odd thing to look at but it works very well. It comes with a nice mounting system so you could mount it anywhere.

Looking at the way it is made the large button would protect it from splashes getting in so you could possibly risk it in a location that you would not trust a normal switch or your ipad.

It is simpler than the swipe (I am a fan of the swipe but again not to everyone's tastes) but it really depends on  your decor and what you need to do.

The one I have is red but the icon can be changed to a range of colours so possibly more colours will be available.

Before you write it off as a mad device with no uses:

Certainly if you want a panic button or an all off button it would be a good option.

If you have an elderly relative, very young children or someone else that finds small buttons difficult I am sure they would find this a great device and with multiple bright colours what could be better to identify them.

I was thinking that I might use one as an extra emergency stop in my workshop. My saw's emergency button is hard to hit when cutting sheet material. I will have to test my saw does not burn out one of those heavy duty switches that you can get. It certainly could be switched when wearing gloves or with your foot so that is possibly one way I would use it.

I am sure there are plenty more uses and I bet many people will find them very useful.

if i am not misstaken than 50eur is roughly cost of relay, which has actuall smart uses and you can connect anny button to it. see i find it atrocious to have a solitary button cost that much, If i want button i can likely have it connect to relay or hell double relay and have it be dumb on off device while secondary relay dose something else. an afterthought instead of standalone device thats where you can make this work. allso with propoused solution of mine you will have another device that retransmits while this new button will not.

i can get behind it if price cuts to like 10 eur or they make those press combos really good which i doubt they will(you really need to play "black & white" to udnerstand why things can actually be too complicated because of simplistic interface that first one is perfect explenation as to why we do have UI in RTS games and trying to make thigns too simple leads to more problems than its worth).

so in short good idea WAY overpriced and kinda stretching too far.

I would prefer if development was spent on fixing the existing product range to be reliable and work as per its marketed instead of bringing out useless devices such as the "button"

It seriously looks like a toy.

thats because it IS a toy. as explained above there is next to no reason for it to even exist (Relay or double relay + standsrd buton from anny hardware store and you have same if not greater functionality).

i have simmilar problem with swipe and unavoidable intercom.

*sigh* software works mostly well nowdays that is good now if they extendede same ammount of effort towards hardware we could get really impressive system eventually.
