Question

Hi,

I recently replaced a few FGD-211 with the newer FGD-212 but forgot the delete the old devices before I uninstalled them.

They now appear as ghosts in the system. How to delete them? I tried the X in the corner but they just comes back.

I also feel that the system gets rather unresponsive after a try of deletion. It seems like it's getting loaded with traffic trying to delete it. Correct observation?

But more, how do I delete them?

Hello,

In this case, you have to try to delete them using 'X' until you see a notification about successful deletion in the notification box at the top of the page. Please, try to delete one device at a time. I cannot tell how many times you will have to do this. Unfortunately, you did not exclude devices properly and we have to try an alternative (probably not a completely user-friendly) way.

I tried the 'X' corner 25 times now for one single device, but after refresh its back again.

And after a few tries the system gets unresponsive and wont react on anything... restart required.

What does the log window tell you?

How are you connected to HC2 (which browser, via home.fibaro.com, ...)?

The window states nothing, I then guess it's getting flooded with multiple delete request since I tried multiple times.

I'm using safari browser and connected within lan.

same here, after 3 soft reconfig commands I ended up with 3 copies of the device with exactly the same device ID. Excluded them, still there. Included the RGBW (input) again and ist was added. Can't delete (also tried 25 times

to delete by "x" it must be a dead node so turn off power on device then you will success by removing by "x" from 1st try

    After pressing "x" please scroll site to top logs, and wait, if you got many device it can take in worst scenario 10 minutes;

if you will get log that removing was failed please contact with support they will try remove it manually from console

same here, they don't go 'dead'. If I open them stuff like room and other fields are blank, can't change that, can't save them.

Jep, there is a serious bug in the gateway system regarding devices database. I also have two orphan slave devices completely empty that remain after trying to delete FGMS001 that didn't want to connect to gateway even when was woken up. I try to delete them by clicking on their "X" but they are always coming back. On the other hand gateway delete normally operating devices after rebooting without any warnings or reason.

    A. Socha explained to me that this happened because this devies were missing on THE CHIP, but I think that he should first consult engineers who hopefully know something about that and then give answer to this question:

If system has self-cleaning procedure during start up why then it does not delete this orphaned devices but instead operating ones that were never reported as dead?

    I have the same problem..

I installed a Popp Z-Wheater and it stopped updating its values so i tried Soft reconfigure but then i they show with low batteries warning, still not updating values.

I then tried removing it, and i got the "Device has been removed" status in learning mode but STILL they wont dissapear.

Now i have re-added it to my system and they seem to work again, but got alot of ghost units..

And what about orphaned devices, how to delete them since they are orphaned and not having real device to remove battery and make it dead?

since it really sucks with orphaned devices (when HC2 think they are included into alarm system, one can no arm all, etc.) i did created small lua scene to at least remove them from battery notification, from alarm system, hide them and disable them as long there is no way to remove them completely from the HC2

Please login or register to see this code.

simply change the brokendev to whatever you wish to kill and run the scene

Being unfortunatly well aquianted with this device i would assume that its battery is dead/depleated (it ceases to update on aprox 1/4 capacity).

just leave it in the sunlight for few hours and try again.

I had one Z-Wave weather for testing. In Fibaro 4.090 it works just fine, but in 2 minutes i discharged battery in bright day. Kuba13 can confirm that.

Kuba 13 dose confirm that - all we did was spin the rotory part for a little bit and press button every once in a while.

Funny fact: its battery did not even last OVERNIGHT!!! Fully charged on 17 hours one day, unable to read data on 8hrs other day.

And its not like this was problem of just one device i had 3 of them(allways sent back when it was not operational) and all displayed exact same symptoms exept for middle one where it ceased to work and would not even charge.

BTW strongly recommand you do not let rain annywhere near the device. it dose have some durability against watter but due to its dessign i would worry (in stronger rain watter would accumulate on top and flow downwards between Solar pane and body of device - something its not certified to handle)
