All devices in room/section

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi,

Id like to create a dynamic scene to locate all devices in a section/room. To avoid missing new devices added or re-configured.

Its rather usefull in a scene when to turn off all lights in the house or all lights in a spec section/room.

Anyone got any ideas? I could use the API for rooms and loop trough all devices. But any API for all devices in a section?

Thanks!

Something like this will get you all the light devices for a room. Would need to use a loop for sections though as the section ID doesn't appear to be kept in the device information.

Please login or register to see this code.

*** Side note to the Fibaro developers:

PLEASE, for the sanity of all software developers, make a decision whether ID is uppercase or lowercase in your methods. getRoomID, getSelfId, getSectionID, getDevicesId, etc. It would provide some peace of mind that you employ project managers and developers with an eye for detail who care about what they are putting their names to. Thankyou ***
