Question

Posted

Hello guys,

Has anyone used already Z-UNO being controlled by Fibaro HC2 or HCL?

The big question?
I am in Brazil and the Z-UNO is still not available on Brazil frequency.

A person from z-wave.me told me I can use Fibaro HCL 921.42 MHz to control the Z-UNO 868MHz but with a very small range. This would not be a problema for me. Is it really possible???

I need Z-UNO for an university project.

Could anyone help me?

it is not true, there will be no comunication between Z-UNO and HCL 921.4MHz, trust me. Ask producer to made with AH chipset for you that device. From producer site:
Australia, New Zealand and Brazil (921 MHz) Seeking for a partner

    Look what the manufaturer answered:

"We can change frequency of Z-Uno to BR, but the range will be very small. Will only work on the same table. If this will work for your university project, you can order EU version (like from german guy you requested recently) and then we instruct you about BR freq."

The small range will not be a problem.

Does it make sense for you?

    Thank you.

Strange they must do something wrong.

I can understood that they use EU anthena but still that should be 10m range

    1) Depend of z-wave chip they should change chip or SAW filtr

    2) change SDK for AH version from EU

    and it should work

If the manufacturer says he can do it then it should not be any problem! Maybe he can change the the radio module or force the carrier wave but does not have a proper antenna or just something as simple as the proper certificate for br isr frequency.

However I do not know if HCL can do much with a Z-Uno?

i have one for testing. I'm surprised how good it actually works with the HC2.

There are some workarounds but i really like the flexibility.

I know its a bit late for an answer, but in the Arduino IDE there is a menu command to change to Australia/New Zealand/Brazil for frequency.

Responding to an old topic... I see there are a few Z-Uno users here. I am in Europe so I cannot tell you how good it is in Brasil. But I can assist you with coding or discuss issues...

I've had the Z-Uno for a while and never had the time to tinker with it properly.  Now I have a project to take a matrix keypad and use it to arm/unarm HC2.  Probably should create a new thread for this instead of hi-jacking this one.
