My last attemp to get help before i trow it in the garbage.

Hello everyone, 

 

Last year, i decided to enter the home automation world. after looking at all the option, i decided to go with fibaro.

I purchased a HC2, a couple door sensor, motion sensor,light switch, a yale door lock and a few cameras.

I tought i could give this a try, set everything up, play with it a little, learn lua and add more device overtime. After initial setup, i add problem with camera not being show most of the time, and door lock not working half of the time.after a few weeks of scratching my head, i gave up and let it on sit on my desk. I tought the system might not be mature enough and i should wait until there been more upgrade.  A year have passed and i tought i might give it another try. 

 

I tried to add my camera again but did not been able to make it work. I'm using foscam and amcrest camera.  I have the API data for them, the http link work in a browser but not in the HC2. 

The yale door lock is recognize but won't respond to any command. 

 

Is there something i could try to make it work? i try delete and re-add the devices with no luck. 

 

Any help would be very appriciated

Concerning your cameras... Try on an iPad or android device. The interface on a browser does not always show an image, although the camera is configured correctly.....

Are you sure that you added correct paths for image and video from the cameras?

Yes i added the correct path for the cameras.  I've been able to get it working for a few seconds, however it stop working. I have verified the path trough an URL and it is also working.

It is just not reliable.

I also have dead nodes all the time. 

And as i said there is also the door lock that is not working.

For camera it is difficult to write anything since you didn't provide any exact model of your cameras. If you check on internet you will find MANY different models of Foscam cameras. Also, it would be nice if you give us what path do you use to connect to camera picture and stream. Besides, for cameras it is good to check your network and how is built, because even low resolutions sometimes doesn't work on badly made network.

 

Regarding dead nodes, z-wave is wireless network so it must be carefully planned and builded otherwise you can have such problems with dead nodes. Check distance and clearance between those dead nodes and control center. For example I have two door/window sensors and one smart plug in my basement and there is a thick concrete wall between them and control center so they were often reported as dead until I added another smart plug in my garage just above them and now they working properly. Also I have one double switch placed in base of my fountain which is closed (made of concrete) and are also sometimes reported as dead, but waking up is working. If they continue to report as dead I will have to find a way to install one of the modules that can relay signal somewhere in between control center and that double relay switch.

 

So as T.Konopka kindly asked, you need to better describe issues to get better help.
