New Home Center to be released any time soon?

Question

I have a HC2 that is fucked...

It's from 2012 and I added a few modules a month...

I now have 107 devices

At some point it became really unstable and unusable.

After touching it and found out that it was really HOT, I put a fan beside it.

That worked fine a couple of years but I am still adding modules...

So this summer, while sailing on wacation I had the bright idea of upgrading to 4.090

My HC2 became really unstable and unusable again. And my Scenes where not working right.

I had to cut the power a few times while sailing to let it cool so I could control it.

Luckily I have an alarm system with a power module to turn on/off the HC2.

I was thinking maybe the fan stopped working or it was really hot in the room.

When I got home a few weeks later I found the HC2 with the fan still blowing on it.

But it was really HOT.

Guessing it could be a problem with the 4.090 upgrade (my scenes for door sensors where not working).

I startet a recovery, only to find that the recovery key is broken.

Not wanting to ship the thing to Poland for a replacement, I started looking for other solutions and was able to replace the recovery image on the stick.

But recovery did not go well. It did do the recovery but the HC2 did not work right. Slow, unresponsive. Sometimes unavailable and I needed to cut the power to boot it right.

I Opened up the thing , connected a monitor to the VGA port to see if I could figure out what the problem was.

I found out that the Network port is broken/unstable. Sometimes there is no lights , sometimes it works and disconnects no lights. I tried new cables but it's the connector. I resoldered that and now it works.

The other problem is that the internal SLC does not always start up. It blinks red when it is working. But sometimes when I turn it on it does not blink at all. The lights on the HC2 case go through the normal boot sequence blinkings but the SLC does not not blink and the BIOS image is stuck.

I tried recovery again and it failed. I tried several times, and on the screen I see several cyclic disk error. But I kept on doing the recovery several times until it finally worked with no errors.

So now I now the internal SLC is also broken

After trying the HC2 for a while, upgrading it to 4.090 and testing with a few devices, I installed my backup.

I quickly figured out that my Scenes are running serveral times and heating up the HC2, so I disabeled all of them.

There is also a new way of using door sensors. Now I have no option to trigger while door open, only breached. That came with 4.090 and is the reason for several of my scenes not running.

I also noticed that the internal SLC will stop working at a sertain heat level. So no I run the HC2 with no endcaps to let the fan blow through the HC2 case and cooling the heatsinks inside.

Now it seems I have a stable HC2 again.

I  know I need a new one. I'm unable to send the HC2 unless I buy a new replacement while I wait.

But since the HC2 is working now I think I can wait until a HC3 is released and I have ordered a Z-wave stick to see if I can use it as a temporary solution / backup.

Any news on a HC2 upgrade? HC3? Is the newer hardware of the HC2 any more reliable than my old HC2 from 2012?

A recovery or loan homecenter would be a nice service from fibaro, I think people would pay money for it!

I think a way of remotely being able to fix a broken USB key would be the best thing they could do. They could post out a new key and then remote in to tie it to your HC
