Samsung TV Plugin - finds TV, wont control it

Question

Posted

Trying to get my Samsung HU8500 controlled via HC2 but it doesn't seem to want to work. It found the TV fine.

Found TV:

Seems to know the TV as it has the Smart Hub button.

I have gone onto the TV and made sure the HC2 is allowed to control it. I am running it over Wifi, could that be a problem?

Check/Search the forum. There are many newer Samsung TV models (those from 2015 onwards) are not supported/working with the plugin.

Even Samsung breaks their own iOS app support for their own TV models every now and then when they release new firmwares.

Shame. Still at least I've not done anything wrong. Odd that it finds it but then doesnt work. I assume it cant be made to work?

And I agree about Samsung. I loved the old app they had that meant I could watch TV on my ipad but then then 'updated' it and broke it! And now its crap. Still wasnt the firmware in the TV that did that, it was the app.
