Hi forum,

I would like to know if there is possibility to control underfloor heating without using of thermostat?

Idea is to use MOTION SENSOR that has implemented thermometer function and through software from HC2 to control relay switch for electromagnetic valve mounted on underfloor circle.

With addition...I would like to connect thermostat (without Z-Wave function) directly to Relay switch input to bypass software if it is needed.

Ideas, comments?

Thanks

Hi,

that is the common mode to use the system. What is your specific doubt about it?

How to do it  precisely as I'm not sure if there will be problem as 2 parameters has to be followed...one is physically connected thermostat on relay switch, plus software controlled through Motion sensor.

Make one heating panel. Set temp. sensor from motion sensor as primary temperature sensor in room. Set linked devices, where you connect temperature sensor with your desired relay switch.

If you set this, it should behave as a thermostat.

About connecting thermostat to S1 input, it should work also, but you have to set parameter 13, if you have non-Z-Wave plus relay to appropriate value. If you have Z-Wave plus relay, it is parameter 20 to appropriate value (I'm talking about Fibaro relay switches).

Yes, we are talking about Fibaro relay switches.

just a curiosity, why do you use a thermostat on the valve in parallel to the motion sensor control?

in case z-wave is down you can still have heating on controlled by the temperature?

You are right. In case Z-wave network is down, I will be able to control heating from thermostat (non Z-Wave)

    clear

with your system who has priority 1? Z-wave I suppose. I mean that whatever change you do via software overwrite the thermostat setting until z-wave is off.

Do you use a thermostat for each house zone (expensive) or only one for the full house (used as temporary cheap backup)

Just to be clear, I do not have system installed. I'm trying to find solution for my request.

Priority should be on software, and when software is not in function, hardware should do the job.

I didn't see until now I forgot to answer. I have in plan to use thermostat for each zone. Not one for all house.
