Hi,

is it possible to get some keypad with RFID card reader for unlocking doors to work with Fibaro? I guess it has to be connected on Fibaro Binary sensor, but got no clue how to connect it and make it to work in software and outside.

Idea is to have unlocking option with CODE and CARD as well as from mobile phone.

Any ideas, please share.

as soon as you can have a signal out from your card reader (I/O and not a message over a protocol) you can use it in a scene to arm/disarm the door.

my idea is to have it just with mechanical switches that create a combination (i.e. 4 switches that unlock only with a specific combination).

I also found interesting commercial mechanical keyboards to use instead building my own one.

If you find one with RFID just be sure about its output.

in your case these two should work:

Connect the relay output of the RFID keyboard (NO or NC) with the IN of a door sensor (two cables) then use its triggering signal in a scene to arm/disarm the door sensor used in the door. (total system composed by the keyboard and two door sensors)

REMEMBER that those keyboards needs power (12V)
