Why is Android app so crappy comparing to ios

Recommended Posts

I switched from ios to android and cant believe what a difference.

Less information on much bigger screen.

No possibility to rearrange the order of devices.

Power consumption ignores total from clamp meter.

Alarm icon on room overview wirks different than on ios (in ios its always green wgen armed, otherwise grey, in android its green when sensor is breached).

Noncharging indicator in status bar.

Page listing of devices in room instead of scrolling like on ios.

Honestly, its like to go back in time when I compare android fibaro app to ios.

Pretty sure it's a long standing request to develop a native Android app and not an iOS copy. At the moment it's simple like a kids toy - which works for some people

If you think the iPhone app is good, I can only imagine how rubbish the Android one is (sorry Fibaro dev!). Having played with Homebridge recently, I've been reminded how good apps like Elgato Eve are compared to the Fibaro app.

On iPad the Fibaro app does look better but I still cant get half the stuff that appears on Fibaro marketing videos on it (smoke alarm that doesn't exist Fibaro?!)

Never said that iphone app is perfect. Jus that there is such a difference in functionality between ios and android. For me, biggest surprise is, that things work different. For e.g. consumption metering from Aeon lab clam meter is being displayed in total consumption status bar on ios app, but not in android. So I used to jus login to see what the total consumption is in IOS, but now i have to go to VD. These differences are the sign of unprofessional Fibaro development/architecture.

The difference itself is not a wort of new phone investment.
