Simple LUA for those who know LUA

Question

Posted

Like the title says, it should be a simple LUA question, but the answer eludes novices like me :(

I have in a scene a generated value which is a number with decimals.  I need a function to round up that number to the next multiple of 15.

For example if the generated number is 3.56 then it should round it up to 15; if the number is 17.87 it should round it up to 30 etc

Can this be done or am i dreaming ?

Thank you

Hi,

This is more of a maths / CS question than one related to Lua,

But, here goes:

Now, you can use your function to bin your data the way you wanted it:

Please login or register to see this code.

Hope this helps.

(For other cases, please have a look at the Lua maths library
