iPhone Notifications Icon Within App??

Hi all,

 

Does anyone's notifications icon work within he Fibaro app on their iPhone? When I click it, its blank. If I get some notifications they appear on the main fibaro icon as a red circle. However upon opening the Fibaro app I don't know where to find them?

I share your frustration. The notifications only shows once, opening the app and they are all gone. I was expecting the Fibaro app to work similar to all other apps. That the notification panel keeps the history of all notifications independently of opening the app or not. So as be able to see the notifications within the app.

The main problem is the following.

- Notification received, the App displays "Red notification lingon berry" alert at the app and the notification shows in the panel.

 

But when opening the app the history In the notification panel disappears and the notification cant be seen within the app.

 

Imagine receiving an alert notification "Flooding in bathroom", you don't immediately look at your phone. You make some calls etc.

Then after a while you see the "Lingon beery" notification on the app. You open up the app and sees nothing, not even in the notification panel.

How to know what happened?!?

 

No other app works like this and have been reported 1/2 year ago... then nothing

Has Fibaro had a look into this? I see we have had some App updates but the notifications within the UK still do not work within the ios app. It's just an empty screen.

@Nis: My push notification (iPhone) works as well as my popup notification (inbox in Fibaro app). Do you have any more details ?

My popup notifications work but when you click in the app there is nothing, so....

 

Notification appears on iphone lock screen "motion breach" > unlock iphone > touch to open Fibaro app > Red bubble on Notification Icon appears > touch Notification Icon "No Notifications" appears in middle of screen

These are available notification types with Fibaro HC2:

•  PUSH notifications are the ones shown on lock screen of your mobile, they make sound when received. If Fibaro app is opened they just disappear and you will not find them any more they are send from block scenes if added to notification panel or from LUA with code:

• POPUP notifications are the ones that are not giving any sound when received but can be found in mobile app in Notification section. Popup notifications show window with icon that can be defined by user, have title, subtitle and body that can be quite long!! Also they have one or two buttons to confirm reading it, or even start some scene! They appear in Notification inbox in mobile app. I think that this type of notification is reserved only for HC2 and Lua (please correct me if wrong) and this Lua code is used to send them:

• INTERACTIVE PUSH notifications are same as push notifications but they also can have two buttons to start some scene or just close it. It shows on lock screen and it is also removed from lock screen or your mobile device notification list when Fibaro app is opened. Lua code to send them:

• E-MAIL notifications are sent to users e-mail addresses that are setup in Configuration. They are received in all e-mail client apps that read that inbox and they can be send with block scenes if added to notification panel or with this Lua code:

Now, I hope it is clear what types of notifications are available, so when you are writing here that you have problem with any of them can you please be precise and correctly use terms that describe type of the notifications yo refer to (bolded text). Thank you.

Took me ages to realise the push notifications just disappear even though they show the red dot on the app icon. Popup notifications are probably what you are after. These both work fine for me in the UK. Well I say fine, popup notifications currently don't seem to run the selected scene, need to look into that.

That is know and reproduced bug. Hopefully will be corrected in next release. In the meantime you can try interactive push notifications?They work.

OK so I am not going mad, thats good! I can run the scene from the Home app shortcuts from the home screen, so its fine thanks to Homebridge, plugin and good work of top people on here

I've been searching for a while where the notifications went. They just disappear, and I understand that is 'normal', ie same for everyone.

In the Fibaro app there is a box Notifications. What is that for then? Or is this part of the reported bug?

Hi @ErnstH,

 

That box in mobile apps is for POPUP interactive notifications and they show up there but you don't get any sound when received. I use them a lot, because they can contain lot of information, can have custom icon and in latest version of app you can archive them for later. POPUP notifications only disadvantage is that they don't make any sound when received.

 

PUSH notifications you can see on lock screen or smart watch, but only if app is running in background or closed. You can read them on lock screen or smart watch but when you open app they will be deleted. Also if you receive them while app is open then you will not see them at all.

 

That is why I always use them together so no matter if app is open or closed I always get notification. PUSH notification alerts me and gives me short version of info while POPUP I can then check whenever I want and see complete information.
