Closing several blinds

Question

Posted

I am quite new at fibaro and I would need your help.

I have several blinds in my room. They open and close with a switch on the wall that has up and down buttons. When i press the down button (press not hold) the blind closes, when i press the up button the blind opens. If i press the button again, the blind stops.

What i would like to do, is to be able to double click the down button or hold it for about three seconds and that would close all the blinds.

What would be the easiest way to do this?

PS: if there is allready a topic on this, please paste a link or pm me and the mods can delete this topic. I was searching through the forum, but haven't found anything suitable.

You might want to look into scenemaking for example.

create new block scene and have trigger be the FGRM's input. if you can set it to doubleclick it will mean that you can make it do whatever you want fairly easy.

incase of FGRM-222 firmware of device v2.1 - 2.3 you would set parameter 50 (Scenes and associations settings) to 1 - scenes activation.

This should allow you to set module to operate the way you set it in scene.

I join this topic with my request

I have the up/down button that must be hold (not just a single press). The venetian blind motor has its up/down stop so if I continue to hold the button nothing happens.

In the calibration phase how the roller shutter 2 understood the upper/lower limit? It's all automatic?

In the fibaro HCL application I have to hold the arrow or just press once?

Any potential conflict with two time relay that I have as centralized command to up/down all the venetian blinds?

thanks!!

Thank you Kuba13. I figured it out eventually :)

Now i have another problem. I would like to double click a switch and start a scene (let's say- turn all the lights off). I know i can do it with a dimmer or a roller shutter, but i would like to do it with a relay switch FGS-212.

Could I somehow modify this code by maxdreamland?

Why using a scene? You can use group 2 associations.

I have the same situation overhere. When I click the button 1 roller goes up or down and when hold the button for 2 seconds all rollers up or down.

Because i am laizy like that. Allso i was just trying to make them figure out weather its brokem module or not.

Now i have not asked them this but for associations you'd need both associated devices to be in direct communication range of one another - not the most flexible solution is what i am getting at. I prefer my solutions how i would like them presented to me - so simple that only way i could mess it up is by being especially unperceptive at the moment.

I even don't know what brand are my blind motors. Before home automation I had one momentary switch for up and another for down and I had to keep them pressed to raise or lower blinds. As soon as I release buttons they were stopping. So, I installed Fibaro Roller shutter 2 and it is working fine now for almost a year. I think that Roller shutter detect end positions by measuring power which motor is taking. If motor is with limit switches then power falls to zero when blinds reaches end limit and if there is no limit switches then motor start to draw higher power when reaches limit and that is recognized by roller shutter module.

But we don't use those switches except in very, very, very rear occasions. Actually to be honest I don't remember when I pressed any of those switches in last year time. Blinds are completely controlled by our Angelina (HC2 box). I have one VD where I can set some default settings like at what time they will raise and what time lower and also how much. I also have one scene which then takes care of our blinds depending on different situations. We are very happy because we don't have to stand by switches to open blinds any more.

This is how our blinds scene control work for us:

Depending on some settings blinds opens at sunrise time or when we wake up to the position that can also be defined, differently for windows and doors. If it is summer time and temperature in house is greater than 24'C then blinds on the windows and doors that are looking to the East stay closed until time when sun moves away from them and then they open, also automatically, no need for our action at all. Blinds also automatically close at sunset time or when we go to sleep, again to predefined position different for doors and windows. If blinds are open and is still day time with lots of sunlight in living room, then if we turn on watching TV only blinds for living room will be lowered automatically, and of course raised again if we switch off TV and is still day light. During winter time if there is strong northernly wind outside then blinds on doors and windows looking at the North and the East stay closed or will close until wind strength drops down bellow some set point. And of course blinds are closed automatically if we leave house and house is set to Away status. Blinds also raise if we return home and home is set to At Home status if it is still day, etc.
