Is it possible to access multiple hc2 in different locations

Question

Posted

I have a HC2 setup at home. I mainly use it locally on my laptop, but also have the app setup on my android phone and tablet. I access it remotely on my phone or through a browser sometimes.

I wanted to put a HC2 in 2 different buildings. These are in a different locations to my home. Installing one and using it locally on my laptop would be no problem because I will access the local IP. I wondered how this would work with my android phone?

Can I receive push notifications from more than 1 HC2 to the same device?

Or would I be limited to accessing the other 2 through a browser on my laptop?

thanks

Hello,

It is possible to access multiple gateways from your app on your smartphone. You have to simply add them in your app.

But, you have to note that you can connect to one gateway via app at the time.

    Hi

    thanks for the reply.

If I have 3 gateways in the app, even though I am only connected to 1 gateway at a time, can any 3 send me a push notification?

Like for instance if I wanted to control the lights from location 1, I could switch to that gateway. The same for location 2 or 3, but if I had a scene setup on location 3 to send a push notification and I was connected to location 1, would I still get the push notification?

    cheers

    Hello,

Yes, it should work without problems. However, after updates of smartphone's software one may need to refresh the connection to gateways.
