How to just check variable in Scene?

Question

Posted

So I got a scene in this version. I want to start scene at given time but only if variable 'nightorday' is 'night'.

Whats happening is that, but also when variable 'nightorday' changes to 'night' scene also triggered - which i don't want. I want it to ignore variable changes but at 0500 to check and run scene if its night!

Ive tried removing tick on the variable trigger at top but no joy!

Anyone knows solution?

That should be it. You did the right thing to uncheck the DayOrNight checkbox.

On the General tab, did you set the "Run scene:" on "Automatic"?

    yes, left on automatic.

Maybe i need to uncheck tick box and reboot HC2?

ok seems if you uncheck variable from trigger and save it still keeps triggering on variable. I removed variable from scene completely, rebooted, then added variable check and unticked it as trigger. Now it doesn't trigger on variable change. Software issue maybe? Or maybe the old trigger is in memory and HC2 needs reboot after such changes?

Using time conditions mixed with other conditions gives some erratic results often. What I do is making a second variable that changes at a set time (without  any further conditions) and then use that second variable in my scene like in "If variable A = yes AND variable TIME = "night' then...."

I also did noticed this kind of behavior. That it still keeps it in memory. When I reboot the HC2 it has been solved.

If you asked me, I think this is a software bug in version 4.100, so I guess the topic was placed in the right forum.

@T.Konopka: Can you check this kind of behavior?

    Hello,

Can you post the scene showing how you change the variable?

Do you use the variable in another scene at the same time or in a similar way?

Set night / day like in picture. Yes variable day and night used in many scenes - i.e., in bathroom if night and sensor breached turn on virtual device (light). But like I say all working okay after reboot of HC2...
