Wall plug

Gerard

Question

Hi,

I have a 9 wall plugs and one  off them is switched off but all the appliances are still working even when i push the button.

The led ring is off when the wall plug is switched off and the consumption is 0 watt.

Then i switch the plug on and the ring goes on and the consumption is 112 watt.

is it broken or what?

Gerard

It looks like the rely inside of the device has sticked / welded contacts.

This may happen when there is too much load connected to the device, or the load has high peak of current while it is turned on.

You may try to shake the device or knock into it - this may help to unstick the contacts for some time.

However the best would be to open the device, examine and if my diagnose is confirmed to replace the rely.
