Use of "Run scene" field

Question

Posted

Hi all,

I am a bit confuses about the use of the "Run scene" field. When will I have to use which option (automatic / manual / disabled)?

I have a scene which job it is to "turn on the lights" if the roller shutter is closing. Do I have to set my scene "turn on the lights" to automatic (so that it checks in the background if conditions are met) or manual (because maybe checking in the background is not neccessary as it is triggered by the closing shutters)?

Thanks for the help in advance :-)

Fritz

Automatic: means it is triggered by a variable changing, a property changing, ... . The triggers are in the scene's header.

Manual: You or some scene or device triggers it. By either literally pushing the run button or fibaro:startScene or a REST API call or ... . But it does not look for a trigger. It is started manually.

Disabled: well, disabled :-)

So if the closing shutters routine starts the "turn on the lights" scene, you use "manual"

Hope this helps.
