Hi all. 

I Wont to her my milbox in to fibaro as a device. 

I have to icon an set it op with a binary sensor in 1 an in 2

 

how Can i set it up so when the one sensor is on Then on icon to activ an when the other sensor is on the other icon is activ?

This sounds strangly complicated. Assuming you mean physicall mailbox, would it not be satisfacotry to use just one one of the binary switche's contacts instead of two?

Infact you can probably just use the door/windows sensor (same basic electronics, just powered by battery - it allso detects if something is open or closed as primary function).

i am still mildly conffused as to what are you trying to achive so i will attempt to give you my interpretation of your request:

 

Your goal is to have a custom icon show when mailbox is opened.

To this end you are attempting to use Universal sensor's contacts (both of them) - why? You can have custom icons for FGK (door/window sensor) infact you can have both states customised.

 

And now you've added that you want to see aswell. Now i could interpret that as tho you want camera but realistically i should expect that you will merly want to have the activity shown to you (contact closing or opening).

 

Here is my suggestion:

forget the universal binary sensor, use FGK - detecting stuff opening is its pourpouse. You can cutomise icons (you just need transparent background and particullar size).

 

Than go on and make notification (... /fibaro/en/panels/notifications.html) you will have to fill all 3 fields, even tho SMS wont work outsside of Poland.

After that go and make Block scene - if FGK is triggered send (mail or push) to mobile device of your choosing. And you will have decent enough information source of your mailbox opening.

 

Hopefully i understood what your intend is and the suggestion will do the trick you want it to.

Hello again, Thank you for your time. I'll show you what it is I want to do. I made hardware to the mailbox. I want to have a virtual device that displays an icon when one sensor has been activated also change over icon again when the second sensor has been activated.

 

 

I do not know how to start writing the code for the virtual device. I'm really a newbie to this.

wow thats what you want eh? mailbox showing that it has stuff in it .)

 

i am sorry for being conffused this much but i belive you should be able to just use a simple D/W sensor still (it offers me 2 icon slots so it could be used for that empty/full box). But it should be possible with binary sensor aswell.

 

As for VD i am just the worst person to ask that, i do not know how to write in them, i simply steal bits of code from forum XD

infact only command i know for sure is "sendIR" one that is completly usless for this sort of deployment.

 

Now if annyone more skilled in VDs comes across this please do hop in and help Niklaskinn i am pretty sure i've ran to end of my knowlidge again.

Yes d / w sensor gives me an icon when it is open and when it is closed.

 

I want it to change icon alternately between the to sensors open.

 

I hope there are some who see this and can help a little.
