Variable for button of switch pressed

Hello everyone,

Any suggestion how to create a parameter for switch button pressed?

 

I create a scene based on Fibaro motion sensor and a dimmer, when I enter in room, dimmer turn on and after few minutes when motion sensor go to safe turn off the lights. Now if I turn on the light from switch and I'm not in range of sensor....lights go off. 

i what to create a scene, if lights was on by switch.....to turn auto off based on module parameter settings.

 

Any suggestion is welcomed.

Can you make much less complex scene (as Mediacut) requested - I get same problem with my system.

I try to analyze your (honestly very nice) scene, but number of options and variables is so big that I gave up

 

 

Just - two things:

Automatic light activation - when some conditions are fulfilled (door opened, motion detected, part of the day - global variable, light level is below set) light to be active for time when sensor is detecting movement + some delay.

Would be also nice to get possibility to adjust the light level (in case of dimer)

Manual override - when switch is used (for dimer any one) - and light is on or off it should stay on (or to be switched on) and timer and motion detection to be disabled. Light to be off manually only (OK it could be also secondary timer to set it and when set to 0 it will stay on until you switch it off).

 

In most of cases like toilette, bathroom, laundry, stairways, wardrobe - you like to get it automatic (light on and off when no movement), but in all those places you get sometimes requirement to switch light on for longer period (and then when timer is switching it off it is making you - and your family - angry).

 

If you do not get time to do it, can you only suggest the way how to do it.

Hi @PiotrBr,

 

it is true that VSL scene became complex and for some people difficult to setup but that is unavoidable consequence when goal is to make it universal or usable in as many situations as possible. I still have some request that are waiting to be added and that will only make it more complex that it already is.

 

So, now I have to rethink how to proceed with VLS scene to make it more simple for users to setup but on the other hand to keep possibilities as many as it is possible.

 

And just few things:

Automatic light activation with motion sensor, door sensor, global variable that all is possible with VSL scene.

Setting of different brightness levels for individual lights  depending on part of the day or special occasion is also possible with VSL scene.

Adjusting level of lights with dimmer when scene is already running and lights are on is also possible with VSL scene, and it will keep this level until next trigger.

 

Manual override to switch off lights is also incorporated into the VSL scene, but it is missing manual turning On. But on the other hand it has possibility to keep lights turned on for longer periods regardless of motion detection by using global variable or state of some device or even by power consumption measured by smart plug. You can change value of some global variable by pressing switch on dimmer and then value of that variable will keep lights on until you press switch again and change value of that global variable. Or you can setup door sensor so that when door is closed lights will stay on no matter if there is motion detected or not. Same is if you use power reading from smart plug and if power is greater than some defined value then lights will stay on until that power falls bellow again.

 

I can write some examples and use different situations to explain what needs to be setup to get VSL scene to work satisfactory.
