Devices without templates

Question

Posted

Hi!

I have some Chinese Z-Wave devices (no no! they works properly) but HC2 always (permanently / constantly) annoyed me about "Devices without templates"

I was sent templates to Fibaro support (at summer - 5 months ago) but no responses here

So, my question is: how I can add own templates to a device? all my devices exists in z-wave db

hi @10der

so this error just has to be ignored - basically a template gives the detailed description on what each of the parameters for your device are available and what different settings will do for you, for example this is my fibaro dimmer which has a template;  It also gives you a view of all parameters and their current values.

For ones that don't have a template, this one being a DHS power switch I can add a parameter and give it a value, or add a parameter and choose 'read only' and save the device to get a read of what the value currently is for that device.  The only time you should need to add a parameter is if you want to modify something from default (ie see the documentation that came with your device as it will tell you what the parameters are and what values to do 'things')
