Remote access for multiple users

Question

Posted

Hi everyone!

I am new to the system. In my home we use HCL to run thinks.

I have successfully configured remote access for the system admin account (mine). After I have setup another account for my wife in access control, she can use iPhone app while at home to control Fibaro, but once she leaves our local network it does not work. She has Fibaro ID and I have double (and triple) checked that in her app both Fubaro ID and local account are setup with right passcode.

When her account is used in web access she can log into home.fibaro.com but no HCL is shown. When I try to add HC it reports "HC already added by other user. Please contact tech support" .

What am I doing wrong?

Only 1 Fibaro ID can be assigned to each HC2/ HCL. Her local account is working, but she will need to use your Fibaro ID account to access the HCL remotely.

So youre saying only one user can be assigned to a HC2? How to do Geolocation triggered scenes then? I want to trigger something when my wife is coming or leaving home and when i'm leaving i want other thing to happen!

You can have many user id's but all using the same fibaro id for remote acess

This  wont stop you from seprate user id geolocation scene triggering

Every device that connects to your HC2 will be assigned a "mobile device id", even if they are logged in under the same user. The geofencing is device specific, not user specific. You can see the mobile devices in the browser by going to Configuration --> Access Control.  Be aware that Fibaro's geofencing does not work very well and will kill your battery very quickly. I have a Vera Edge that I still use for its geofencing because it is so much better.
