HCL cannot update (v3.593)

Question

Posted

Dear all,

Please share your thoughts for the problem I am having. My old 'play-around-with' HCL has not been used for a while, and when I try setting it up again earlier this week I ran into some problems.

All seemed to be working just fine, but it will not allow me to upgrade it's FW, with currently v3.593 installed on it.

It does prompt me for available updates (see attached image).

Then, when I try installing it, it restarts into recovery mode (see 2nd attached image).

When I try the 'repair system' option it starts downloading new FW up to ~48% and then returns an error saying the download is malformed (see 3rd attached pic).

Then I can either choose 'Exit from recovery' for it to boot back into v3.593 or a full recovery, which wipes the entire system and boots it back into v3.593 also.

Either way, when I then try updating it's FW again I run into the same issues..

Any help of advise? Can I fix this myself or should I contact support and ship this to beautiful Poland for support? :-)

    Great! Thanks, did not know.

    Will try at home :-)

When updating in the GUI from an older version i remember it would update in steps to the latest FW version.

Is this still needed/recommended, or can I simply push forward to the latest version?

Also, would this mean I'd be able to do a FW downgrade, should I ever wish to do so? Thnx

I'm experiencing the same issue, but the site mentioned above states I don't have access to this page.

Could someone please share such a file please? Or point me to another download location?

    Nevermind, got it working:

    - Download updatehcl.fibaro.com/4.170/patch.tar.gz

    - Enter recovery mode

    - Update from file

    - Power cycle

    - Login using admin / admin

    - Go through setup...
