Question

Posted

I have registered 2 Shutter controllers on the HC2. For some reason the first device works fine and I can assign to the bedroom room but the second device is in the "Hidden" section of devices and is master to the first device. Same has happened for Window Sensors.

What is going on? How do I remove this master/slave relationship and make the second device visible and work independently of the first device?

For clarity, here is the "Hidden" menu

Its all one device, the master is just the box it come in and the slaves are just the different componants  sets of contacts etc. You only need to assign the slave you are going to use. The master and unused slaves stay hidden or in unassigned

If you click show all devices on the left you will see each slave. You can match them up by their  device IDs , same device same ID once you name them and assign them to a room you will see them in that room.

When you first add the device it will ask you what type, lighting etc this will dictate what icon you see when its displayed and what group the device sits in This is important later say if you want to turn all lights off in one comand and you have put your gate latch controller under lighting it will get triggered at the same time.

Its just a big puzzle that become clearer the more you get into it
