No switch control after motion breach

Question

Posted

I've got a basic scene setup in my bathroom which is to turn the light on when the motion sensor is breached.

The issue is that if I then want to manually turn off the lights by using the swtich, I'm unable to do so. They quickly turn off and then striaght back on again.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help very much appreciated.

The variable is to determine is my son is awake or not and is defined as after 6am.

I would like to be able to turn off the swicth manually if I choose to do so.

@alabomb check out  @Sankotronic s very smart light scene post

if you do want to use your block scenes then still read post vsl scene the bit about sensor parameter settings like "blind time" that will stop this.

Sorry i was meaning check out the very smart light lua scene which you can download and try.

Or read set up settings for that scene  because it will tell you what settings to adjust in the advanced parameters of your sensor to stop it retriggering stright after you turn the light off eg there is one setting called blind time which adjusts time the sensor can see you again after triggering:-D

okay thanks but I don't understand lux so cannot use that complex scene. It's strange because when i turn the bathroom light off, I am out of range of the motion sensor so it cannot detect my motion.

    Lux = light level

Yes VSL scene has got alot going on but most of it you are not using.

Ok guess you mean lua not lux.

I do have an off scene as well which turns it off after 3 minutes but would be nice to be able to use the switch also (mainly for my wife....)

Just cant understand why it turns back on when there is no one in the room.

Yes some block scenes are not as simple  as they should be  thats why people end up with LUA

Canyou see if sensor is safe untriggered on ipad or lapttop when  you flick switch?

You do know that VSL LUA scene you just copy and paste it and then slip in your light and sensor id numbers. Its a good LUA starter project.
