Washing machine block scene problem

Question

Posted (edited)

I have tried to follow a few guides on Youtube, but I can't get my scene to work without "too many instances".

I have also tried 1,2,4 8, 10 allowed instances and so on, but nothing helps.

The scene works though, I get a notification when the machine has stopped.

I guess the ON scene starts over and over because of the power used by the machine going up and down all the time?

Is there something I can do to get the scene working without this problem? A setting on the wall plug?

    Great, thanks for the reply!

I made the new scene today and will try it out tomorrow.

The new scene works fine, but I still get "too many instances" all the time.

But as long as it works, maybe it's not a problem.

@JonasW Just wind up your max instances a tad to stop the notes coming.

with your progaming you are trying to minimise instances, its just making the HC work a little harder

I've tried maximum number of instances.

    The notes still keeps coming.

Maybe they won't come as fast with a higher number of instances?

What wall plug do you use?

Keep in mind  that your scenes are triggered every time the plug sends a power report.

If you have Fibaro wall plug, try getting fewer reports, by playing with these paramters.

This helped me to remove "too many instances" (coffee machine). You should also uncheck "triggering variables". You don't want to trigger the scene when the variable changes.

I use a Aeotech Smart Switch 6 on my washing machine. That one has similar paramters also, that removed "too many instance".

    Edit:

Also, try avoiding the 30sec delay if you can. Study the power consumption graph, to find  a good triggering point.

Every time the power consumption changes within those 30sec, at least one more instance is started.

I'm using a Fibaro wall plug.

    Excellent, thanks for the help.
I'll take a look at that!
