Hi,

Looking for any similar experiences.

We were away for a few days and this is the first time we have left "Domino" (aka our HC2) alone in the house by herself.

When we got back I noticed a few things

One scene executed one evening a 19:17 while we were away randomly and only half the scene executed.

It's a simple Home Panic scene that can only be manually activated from the scene controller in the hall. I created it for the kids in case some thing happens to mum while dad is out (or visa versa)

The scene fires off a 'home panic' alert in a number of different directions (my work email and our 2 gmail accounts, TTS to sonos player in garage, pushover and popup) . It sends it 10 times in quick succession and will grab or my wife's attention through our phones.

Two devices that normally are rock solid became unavailable

RGB strip (with fibaro RGBW module) and fibaro door sensor for the understairs light

The welcome home scene only have executed when we arrived back and no errors on debug window

The alarm was turned off, the music was resumed in the kitchen and playroom, the delayed unloading of the message hub executed

The two parts that didn't execute were the initial home greeting, "Welcome home, house temp is at blah and the time is blah" and the pushover to say the scene was executed

Neither of these scenes or the two devices have given trouble before this. Both executed correctly and in full when manually executed after I got home.

Has anybody else experienced this ?

Does the zwave network slow down when not used very much for a while or any suggestions as to what could be the cause.?

Code for the two scenes is attached

Thanks

-f

Well sometimes the "bloody thing from the depths of hell" (this is what the wife calls the HC2 sometimes when I mess up). The house runs the goodnight scene which turns off all the equipment, runs the TTS  that wishes us a goodnight and the house is put in sleep mode. This is a scene that only runs manually.

Jim

P.s. nice looking scenes :)

    Thanks @jimicr

Did you ever track down why it was executing incorrectly ?

It's just to random,  sometimes twice a week and then nothing happens for weeks..

I should put a sourcetrigger in the scene so I hope to see what is happening.

I had my share of gremlins with our Angelina but at the end it was always me! :P When I'm away for work for 5 weeks, my wife didn't experience any gremlins. All was working flawlessly. It happened to her only once that Angelina fell asleep and nothing was working when she came back home from downtown. That was on 4.110. She just restarted her and all good!

I haven't yet tested it on 4.120, but I know that on previous versions there is some kind of problem with scenes triggers. Even if you remove trigger it will continue to trigger scene until you restart box. That can do some really serious gremlin things! :)

I've had random scenes trigger now and again, coming back to find lights on or other scenes having run. Never really worked out if it was down to my code or gremlins in the HC2. I know for sure that it is not robust enough for me to rely on anything mission critical to be done by it (locking doors or similar) so just use it for things that make life easier like turning on lights.

    Good evening @AutoFrank,

Just now I tracked down one of those gremlins and I think it's recreate-able.

Create a scene that is triggered by a Global, save it and make a VD that toggles that var from lets say "Yes"to "No".

Run the scene from the GUI so you can press the button on the VD and see the text underneath the scene "scene triggered"

Now edit the scene and rome all the triggers, save and press the button on the VD.

In my case the text "scene triggered" still appeared and the scene was actually triggered.

*EDIT* forgot to mention that a reboot fixed this problem..

I just saw the scene was still in automatic so I'm not sure if I'd set it to manual before testing it would still wake the little monsters :)

    @jimicr

Thanks for that and it makes sense as I thought I heard of a bug in relation to scenes firing when you don't expect them to

I had one more this morning and will keep an eye out
