What is house number used for?

I only have one HC2 and when I set it up for the first time it said something like House Number 4. I changed it to 1 a couple of years ago, but I just started to wonder what its for. Is it used for anything or is it just for people that have more than one so they can identify them?

I suppose that these Aliens (as seen below) will enter your house, stealing your wife and kids and leave you behind while sleeping. Just because you have entered your address AND house number!

But don't forget they also have access to ALL your data when you entered a room, left the house, switched a light on, went to the toilet and so on and so on.......

 

But when you think of Geo fencing / locating users then your house number could be a way to work more exactly,

Giving better / more accurate results will result in when you reach your home by car the lights will turn on, your porch will open and so on and on......

 

Just giving you a thought about this......

But I agree, privacy is always an issue!
