Now, when Fibaro support Amazon Echo custom skills I was thinking to start this topic to discuss all the posibilities, pros and cons.

 

So First, it starts with Alexa, start Fibaro, when alexa answers by - Start controling your home.

If you have more HC connected to your Fibaro ID then it even asks you which one do you want to control, thats nice, altough it is tricky to set it up. It took few times to choose number one

 

Then it just works nicely. Are any of my doors opened - no, all doors are closed...

What is the humidity - in which room? - in the kitchen - the humidity in the kitchen is 42,3 %

What is the office temperature? - the office temperature is 22 degrees

Turn on all lights...

 

It works nice, actually I like that when I say the first "start Fibaro" Alexa comunicates with me basically.

 

But there are few little problems. First one:

 

Set the temperature to 20 degrees - Temperature set to 20%. 

- So alexa answers with % instead of degrees and the temperature is not changed.

 

Controling RGBW light is not such easy

And obviously, running scenes is horrible.

 

I would like to ask Fibaro here to any patern of how to name the devices and rooms and scenes. I am not sure here, with the normal alexa plugin the lights has to have the name for example "living room light", it does not work if you have just "light" in the "living room" room. This custom skill seems to be better with that but not perfect. But now I am very lost in it, how do I name it? 

And what about scenes. I tried all different names, but even - start "night" scene - does not work.

Control of shutters schould be easier.

Now: "Alexa set the living room shutter to 100 percent".

Should be: "Alexa, open the living room shutter"

Also a note i have done is that if you do a block scene and it works, you cannot change the name of the scene afterwards and think the custom skill show pick up the change. You can change the steps inside the block scene but not the name. You need to create a new one with the name you want to have.

i think "start fibaro > discover devices" can help here to rediscover scenes ?
