Motrised blinds/curtains

Question

Posted

Hi, Does anyone know of a supplier in Australia for z-wave controlled motorised blinds (internal curtain type not external roller shutter type).

I know I can install any motorised blinds and add fibaro roller shutter switch but just interested to know if anything is compatible off the shelf.

Couldn't find the specific product on the australian site though, but maybe try to contact them and ask about it.

I have the external (Solar) blinds from Fakro and for a year now I have been waiting for Fibaro to include a template for them. The blinds have an option to autoclose based on sunlight brightness but that function is lost when they are associated with Fibaro and not the remote that came with them. :(

I went with Somfy Sonesse 40 6/40 motors and used the Fibaro Roller Shutter v2. The reason for this and not a motor with z wave built in is that I can easily change the module if something goes wrong with it or a new module comes out with better features

Also being Fibaro as mentioned above templates for other manufacturers can be an issue

Hi Fat,

Just wondering, who did you buy through, and did they know about Zwave?

Hi Nickmc,

I bought all of my blinds through Lovelight blinds who I believed got Hunter Douglas to manufactur them here is Australia. They had no idea about Z Wave or any kind of automation so I told them I was after a basic "dumb" motor with up/down wires than is only controlled by a basic wall switch

Hi @fat would you mind sharing how you wire Sonesse 40 with FGRM-222 v2 and the main circuit please? I am looking for other motor blind solution that work with HC2.  Appreciate your help.

@Sirhideo I didn't actually wire this in, I got an electrician to do this and he just followed the Fibaro diagram
