Question

Hi.

Did anyone deal with fgbs 321?

I want to use one of input (IN1) for doorbell

according to fgbs321 doc it supports this action natively.

yes, it works like a charm. but....

Fibaro UI provides to me choose to setup for this device only as: a sensor gas, etc, door (window), etc, but not door bell.

and thus core fibaro system always trying to check my doorbell (sic!) on an alarm and report me about on / off.

A careful reading of the manual did not have any success as for me.

    Hi @10der,

If you want to use FGBS alone only for door bell then you can set it up as door sensor and then check option "Sensor is excluded from alarm system" so system will not check it or ask to arm/disarm it.

If you plan to make video gate, then besides FGBS you will need relay module for door opener and camera. This three you can then link in linked devices panel to video gate. This will allow you to get notified when somebody press door bell, you can see who is it on camera and you can open door by pressing button.

I plan to do the same. I'm just too lazy to start because I still have to examine wiring of the existing system and then I want to place small power supply and FGBS in existing handset unit in the house. I want to avoid using drilling machine since I drilled several times directly into cables in the wall :-P We buy this house where we live now and 'electrician' that was doing installation wasn't really doing it according to the known rules and regulations.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! same situation. we bought this house last autumn and we have the similar situation with you.

In addition, complicated by the fact that I'm an old developer and :) a drill in my hands looks funny. But my father-in-law comes to us from time to time and he rewires the wiring around the house. :)

    sorry, looks like offtopic :D

@Sankotronic  You wouldn't happen to know, is it principled FIBARO company policy:  prevent from using non-Z-Wave sensors in UI? I am asking about door open relay.

I forget what this relay now works via Raspberry Pi and when I trying to find door open relay for linked device - I see empty... cuz HC2 can't find VD with door open relay.

    Hi @10der,

I haven't yet play with linked devices but it would not surprise me that VD is not linkable. I'm afraid that you will have to link Fibaro relay device to video gate and use it as a link to Pi that controls non z-wave relay.

    not clear for me, sorry.

when I trying to create video gate in linked devices - HC2 UI ask me 3 (three) fields

    1) cam - it's ok

    2) doorbell push button - it's ok - fgbs 321 used

    3) relay device to video gate - oops... showstopper here

Yes, you need three components to build video gate. For the last one, relay, you can use Fibaro single switch or any other z-wave relay module and then either connect it to wires for door opener instead of the one you have now, or leave it without wire connections but only make scene that will be triggered with this relay and send command to raspberry PI to open door.

    thank you. got it.

but my question was why guys from FIBARO do not allow use VD for it.

in this case, I should close video gate plugin and switch to my VD with the button for rpi for open the door.

    Awww
