non FIBARO Wall Light 2-Switch showing as 3 dev

Question

Posted

Who can explain me the principle and logic of adding devices?

why Coolcam (NAS-SC01Z) Wall Light 2-Switch look like 3 (three) devices in UI?

Master

555

Slave

556
557

558

  where:

556 & 557 repeat functionality of 1st switcher

558 - 2nd switcher

thank you!

It's same like Fibaro switches (one slave is hidden). After inclusion you have slave MASTER_ID.0, slave MASTER_ID.1 is hidden and MASTER_ID.2.

MASTER_ID = id of master device.

I think you can just hide one of the slaves for 1st output. Most possible explanation why it shows as 3 devices is missing template.

@jakub.jezek bardzo dziekuje for the explanation, already done... but my question - why? why FIBARO HC2 has a very strange as for me behavior with non-FIBARO (only?!) devices.

btw, the similar behavior I also have when developing Z-UNO (z-wave Arduino) devices....

    thnx!

    UPD:

    look like crazy, isn't it?

sensors: temperature / humidity / light / motion

    relay: 2pcs

RGB led strip (look like 3 dimmers - color not implemented yet)

UPD2: theologize about FIBARO security channels - not interesting for me :)

I do not recall if Z-uno has template already.

It's just showing what can be "controlled", like sensor, switch and "dimming" capabilities. Look at the link below. There is multiple features, that z-uno has to offer. And HC2/HCL behaves like this probably because of lack of template.

Absolutely. Also bear in mind that you have to exclude and include the device when you change the channel definitions. The HC won't show any change in channels. And your sketch won't upload either...

there will be no template for z-uno,no need for that at all (one can add manually 1 or 2 necessary params, if nay really necessary, i never changed anything as z-uno works well enough) and of course due to the nature of z-uno template does not make anyway.

I see no point in having an empty template either, except for not having the "missing template" warning...

I use a VD to model the device.

Thread hijack: @tinman do you happen to know if HC can/could support dynamic reconfiguration (as was announced for Z-Way)?

That is OK as long as Fibaro then remove that annoying notification that there are devices without template like for example Remotec ZRC-90 which works great with HC but since it doesn't have template I have to look at  those notifications.

haven't seen 2.0.10 yet out there, will have to ask Сергей how he implemented dynamic reconfiguration (in older versions exclusion/inclusion is necessary to load user sketch, so at that point device is loosing connection to gateway) into z-uno, if this is only bootloader thing and custom z-wave command then for sure it can be implemented on HC.

Thanks. I'm waiting on 2.0.10 too. I'd like to test FLiRS...

Yes, but as I understand it, this also needs to be supported by the controller. I might be wrong, maybe "soft reconfigure" or "reconfigure" will do the job... To be tested ;-)
