HC2 - Localization Error

Question

Guest andyhud
Posted

Hi all

firstly, I have been doing a lot of searching but can't seem to find the answer on the forums. If it is here, apologies

I was setting up my location and I get this in the HC2. I understand it could be something to do with Google Maps API Key change back in July last year? (2016)

Is there a workaround to this? I know I can put in the Lat/Long manually, but be nice for the map to work

Thanks

Andy

Can you go to your unit and change DNS to Google ones?

I actually met that issue, if you have your own DNS server.

You are right sir! I have my own server doing DNS, swapped to 8.8.8.8 and it works... very odd

I need to switch it back to my DNS now, but as long as the lat/long is there, then that is good enough

    Thankyou!

    Hello,

I have the same issue that is not possible to solve by setting the IP as static and changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.

I guess that my problem is that I have a local IP set and I mapped it on port 81 my firewal NAT for external access.

I too hope for this to be solved on next version because it limit so much HC2 possbilities!

Thank in advance for this update!

    I also have no luck have the location set, using both;

    a) static IP/Google's DNS, and

    b) using the API method per
