 connected to a window motor. It is setup as a single momentary switch.

 

Does anyone know how through LUA I can determine if the window is being opened or closed?

 is setup as a dual momentary switch the resultant scene activation id for gang 1 = 16 and gang 2 = 26, so I can tell if someone has tried to open or close the window, however as a single momentary switch it always returns id = 16.

 

I am hoping there is another way to determine if the window is being opened or closed. Please help?

The best way is by a Fibaro door/window sensor.

I think I knew that already. A fibaro door/window sensor will:

 

a) be a waste of additional money

b) not tell me the position of the window

 

I have written LUA to determine the position of the window where I have dual momentary switches and it works fine for those windows.

 

Does anyone know how to do what I have asked or do I have to convert to dual momentary switches which I would prefer not to do?
