Question

Hello,

I have 5 fibaro smoke alarms, which I wish to have interconnected. If one alarm is triggered, I want all alarms to sound. Is it possible to configure them to be connected in such way without going through the gateway? I would prefer by-passing the gateway for safety reasons.

Thanks

Hi @Lande and welcome to Fibaro forum!

You can't make other smoke sensors to give alarm sound if one of them is breached since this are battery operated devices and don't respond on requests. But you can associate smoke sensors with other z-wave devices to do something, like dimmers to turn on lights, sirens to sound alarm, etc. bypassing the gateway.

But I use this script to sound alarms and send notifications if any of the smoke sensors is breached and it proved to be working. Tested with real case of burning toast, so you can check it here:

If nothing else you can still use this script as a backup solution and to send some notifications in case of fire, but I hope you never need it!

Enjoy coding :-)
