Alexa skill - 2 available, but for Germany there is 1

OK,

on August i ask for the sec. skill on alexa and he said in 2 months its coming and i buyed some alexa echo dot and 1 echo show too for my smart home, after 2 months he said nothing and there isnt the sec. skill in the skill store. now its december and its nothing in the Store. dont miss understand me but i paid a lot for Fibaro aktors sensors the hc2 and other stuff and i think thats not fair that they said its coming in 2 months and there is coming nothing. if i could turn back the time i would change my hc2 too an other system from an other suplier. if they said from a fibaro froum moderator that the skill comes in 2 months and there is coming nothing is a big miss for me, and i dont understand your answer tricky, i only want the sec alexa skill in germany when they said it comes. If you read the comments on Amazon about the first german skill you know what i mean. sorry for my bad english, i hope you can understand my situation and my feeling about Fibaro.

@ctyd, if you browse this forum you will notice that Fibaro never gives timetables for new products and/or software.

You just, like all of us, have to be patience....... Fibaro is working hard on improvements but they can't realise them all at once.

BTW: the second skill is available in English.

The second skill seems to be geo blocked or only delivered in some countries, in Austria it's not available at all.

@AndyAA, Alexa is only  available (for now) in Germany, UK and USA and since a week also in the Netherlands.

BUT you have to set your location to USA (or Germany but I didn't test it) to get the needed skills.

Hi @AndyAA!

 

Custom Skill in Austria is quite dependent on German Skill.

 

Once our Custon Skill will be available for German language, you should be able to use it as well.

 

I have to be honest, I'm not familiar with Amazon account settings.

 

I can only say that we didn't receive any reports that people from Australia cannot use English/British/US Custom Skills so it should be fine to use DE skills once released.

I think language is not enough, all my devices, including Alexa are always set to English.

 

Anyway, as the skill does not work at all for me after the last updates I might have to wait longer..

What about region?

 

Amazon account region, delivery address?

 

Fibaro is a Poland-based company and we didn't have any problems with testing Alexa using just the regional and language settings.

 

We didn't use any VPNs or smartDNS providers.

OK, I'll test with the location settings, hopefully I can get it working.

 

Is the skill requiring special connections or ports? Any chance to debug why Alexa is not finding any devices (Except Sonos) from Fibaro after updating? I currently do not have any possibility to troubleshoot, but I assume the Alexa is connecting to Fibaro Cloud (with Fibaro ID) and scan using your servers, or is it scanning with local IP?

to be very honest, knowing when the translation was made, I'm more than "just a bit" disappointed. Not that i need it, but our customers does.

I'm living in the Netherlands. I ordered my Alexa on a German delivery address and had it forwarded to my home address

and my Amazon account is registered in New York (USA) .

This was the only way to get it over here.  And by using this NY address I'm able to use all the skills (with exceptions like Domino's etc.)

It's a kind of a hassle but it works fine that way!
