Reconfiguration In Progress gets stuck

Question

Posted

Hello, I have had a problem which fibaro ssupport orted where for months on end i could not reconfigure devices because the queue was stuck on reconfiguration in progress. The cancel only works if a device is queued rather then already started trying to reconfigure.. Factory reset then restore does not solve the problem.

I CAN NOT CANCEL once a device "Reconfiguration In Progress" starts.

Does anyone have a fix or idea how to resolve this. Why does HC2 not realize it's stuck on a device and skip to continue with the rest.

After fibaro support fixed the problem. It came back with another device that exists in the fibaro hc2 but not accessible for the time being. So now 10days later I'm still stuck and unable reconfigure devices again.

Any ideas or a fix would be fantastic.. having the cancel button work ideally would be my choice for a solution.
I've asked for a solution from fibaro support however awaiting a response.

Hi @markdyer

I have periodically come across this issue and it can be an issue

The usual methods to try are excluding the device is it still physically exists in your system or force removing the device. This hasn't worked for me in the past and I've had to get fibaro support to connect to my system and stop the process.

I believe it happens because I haven't included a device successfully and I then try and reconfigure it.

One option is to compete a backup before adding or reconfiguring any devices and this way you have a good restore point.

At this stage I don't try and reconfigure a device if I'm not 200% sure it included successfully. I never us a soft reconfigure to fix a failed inclusion.(I only use reconfig on a device that I know was included successfully and working at some stage)

I know it's not a solution but I have found that with a few precautions i can avoid it happening most of the time ....
