Motion senssor behavior change

Hi !.

so i'm using my motion sensor to protect my car, its parked really close to the house and it was working perfectly until few days ago (for a few years)

 

since few days ago, when i try to arm this sensor, the icon isn't changing to safe mode ( although the last movement showed is old one..)

 

the only way to reset it, is by removing and restoring the battery.

 

again,

this was working perfect for a long time.

 

any idea what can cause it ?

I've had an Aeotec MultiSensor (old, round) outdoor and it behaved like that in less than 6 months. Sooth and dust accumulated on the printed circuit board. I was able to make it work for another 6 monts by cleaning the pcb. Did that a few times. I replaced them with a Fibaro fgms, actually because that sensor has better battery life. It still works flawlessly after almost one year.

You might be tempted to mount them in a clear box. But most clear plastic filters IR so that does not work.
