·         Dear all,

I use the Rest Api a lot to connect to all kind of things like Raspberry PI's etc. To exchange data I use global variables.

To test I used the admin account, but through the accessibilities, which you have with this admin account it's generally not a good idea to use it for permanent solutions which use the Api. I wanted to have more control for which the api could control devices/scenes within the controller, so I made an new user and gave it just the rights which it needed to do the job, which works fine but the problem pops up when you try to write the global variables, which you can apparently do only with the admin account.

I know you could work around with an virtual device which write the global variables, this don’t work if you generate “random” data.

Does anyone know if you can give users rights to write global variabeles, or know another workaround so I don’t have to use the vulnerable admin account.

Thanks in advance.
