Can't find HC2

Question

Posted

Dear all,

Excuse me for my Denglish (Dutch English) ;)

Yesterday my HC2 arrived. When everything was in place, I've downloaded the finder app from the Fibaro website. No HC2 found! What am I doing wrong here? I even switched ports in my router/modem device. I feel so stupid now...

Thnx in advance!

Can you check on your DHCP server if your HC2 received an IP?

How can I do that? I'm in the menu of my server, but can't find something about other devices.

Not on the server menu. check your access point or router, where you have plugged in the HC2, there you should see somewhere a tabel with all known devices, which received an IP address if set to DHCP and the 'IP address server' allows new devices.

what access point/router you have? If it is fritz I can support easily

Ok! I found the IP adres. I also copy paste it in my browser. The Home Center recovery page, nothing much for me to do there I guess.

So the HC2 has an IP adress and still my computer isn't able to see the HC2 with the Finder. Strange aye?!

You should not see the recovery page, then you have started your HC2 in the wrong way.
Simply plug in the power supply. If the HC2 not boot, then press the start button and release it. You should not hold it down!

    EDIT:

When configuring your HC2, I recommend configuring the network to DHCP (not a fixed IP)
Then, configure your router and lock the IP address of your HC2 there.
Then you protect your HC2 IP address and no other device can "borrow" that address.

I did! But... The cardboard box where is was in was a bit damaged on the inside. So I think somebody else had some stuggles as well. Now I'm running the recovery and wait what happens.

    I'll keep u posted!

Make sure that both buttons on the back cover work, and that they are not jammed in the depressed position.
Then you can accidentally end up in recovery mode.

Remember to update to the latest version first before you begin adding your devices.
