I think is needed for block scenes to have 'else' parton the function, is mostly useful in various situations.

Hi @NunoMartins,

Having "else" option in Block Scene is definitely an interesting idea.

Could you provide some examples of how would you utilize it?

  • I have an example it would work great on my scene and I can group 2 scenes in 1!

    If all my alarme devices is all armed then send push notification "all good" else send "partial armed".

    In other example when I arrive home and if night open entry gate and turn on lights on the wall else just open gate.

    @I.Srodka,

    Sure, i can give you some.

    Shutters. If Lux are high then open lamelas, else close lamelas and turn on lights.

    Summer/Winter lights: If summer time, then set heating to lower temperature, else (winter time) then set heating to higher temperature.

    Day/Night Fancoil: After sunset, set FAN speed to low, else set FAN speed to AUTO.

    Alarm: If sensor is armed then send me Push "Armed", else send me Push "Disarmed".

    Warm water: If outside temp < 27, then start pool heating, else stop Pool Heating. -> I simply like warm watter in pool.

    +1

    I would also like to have it for all scenes where not only an action when the condition is TRUE is needed but also when it is FALSE. Currently this needs two scenes and having it in one only would make it more obvious and easier to understand.

    Completely agree with this. Also unit may be less overheaded (just theory), if condition is not met, then else happen automaticaly and do not need to check another condition.

    Hi!

    I can tell you that I've submitted your ideas to the team responsible for block scene development.

    But I do also see the concerns when adding the else, there would be an immediate wish to have the else if as well, which would then lead to endless nesting, but having at least the else would help for many scenes. like I have scenes for Monday thru Friday and Saturday and Sunday. Those I could do in one go. Or scenes where a different reaction during day and during night is needed. I would already love to have the 'opposite' only, would make things easier.
