"LEARNING MODE error" on HC2 when entering inclusion mode

Question

Posted

I have a HC2 at hand which has problems.

When trying to enter inclusion mode nothing happens for ±5 seconds until I read in the log at the top of the screen:

[10:37:02] LEARNING MODE fout, probeer opnieuw.
[10:37:02] Apparaten toevoegen voltooid

It's in Dutch, but it says as much as 'learning mode error, try again.' 'adding of devices completed'

Other than this the device is working fine and also exclusion mode works as it should.

Both reboots and FW upgrades (upgraded it this morning to v4.140) did not solve this issue.

Any advise? (idealy in such a way I don't have to do a factory reset and exclude/include over 120 built in devices again......)

Thanks!

I assume this message appears, even without clicking on the button of the device you want to include. If a reboot does not solve this... Your HC might no longer be the "primary" controller (or think it is not the primary). Then you cannot include devices, but you can still exclude them. Support can fix this, no need to recover/restore... Did you toy with "secondary controller"?

Not my own controller, but this actually does ring a bell..

I know the owner linked a 2nd HC2 over VPN (see attachment).. I'll disconnect them to see if that solves it!

Does not solve.. I'll reach out to FIbaro Support :-)

    Thank you!

Plausible. Your controller is asking the other controller to do the inclusion, but that machine is unreachable. I bet that controller can transfer the primary role to yours, but not the other way around. But support can force it...

Just finished a session with Fibaro Support.. They rewrote its eeprom to re-initiate zwave, which solved the problems.

Big thumbs up for Fibaro's fast and good support here!
