Hello all,

I'm interested in fitting a normal siren to my Fibaro system since the current Z-Wave sirens are pretty terrible, built quality wise. What i need is a Z-wave bridge/ device that should meet the following requirements:

1. wire connect it to the siren

2. output from it to trigger the siren

3. input from the siren to ip for the tamper message.

What z-wave relay should I buy for this? Does any of if tried this before?

Thank you

simple solution, take something like Abus SG1650 and Fibaro Relais 2x1.5kW (not the double switch2 !). That Fibaro module runs with 24V, siren with 12V, so you need small 24/12 DC/DC converter (1A is enough). You can connect both light and siren two channel one (to get siren on/off) and tamper as input to second channel. That siren have as well space enough to add accu-pack. That siren looks bit ugly (oh well, like typical industriall siren), but it is solid and works great (and really loud - not like all these z-wave outdoor sirens).

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. I will also search to see if I can add a Paradox siren.

    Is this also suitable:

i use a texecom siren with a relay switch (the original relay not the '2' version).

12v psu for siren and mains power for relay.

i have been using for last 2 years and working perfectly.

the sirens are negative switched and the relay takes care of that for me.

     ?

One more question since i got the siren, what's the difference between the fibaro relay and switch, Is this ok: FGS-223?

no, it's FGS-222. Both FGS-223 or FGS-213 will NOT work with 24V, so don't use them for this solution.

    Hello,

but what hat if I take a siren that works on 12v?

    thank you!

Instead of a simple and (hopefully) never used device like a siren I use Denon Heos speakers with all kinds of sound and voice messages. They have a nice API that I can use from scenes and VDs. I'm building a one way message system - very useful for things that can't be handled automatically - at least I can wall a message in the house so "someone" (always me...) can react to them manually.

    @ivhansen

could you share the code that you have used to build the message system?

Joining here, I am also looking for the sound notification system (sonos or heos, not decided yet)

Sonos messaging is already been done. There are members on here who have already got the VD running and scenes. I also have done some videos.

    goto YouTube and search yorkshireautomation

    Thanks

    Maybe I'm missing something but

States that it operates on each channel at 220v not 24v.
