[SOLVED]Can't get rid of Smoke sensor low battery notification

Question

Posted

Yesterday i got a low battery notification but they keep coming although i did the following:

1. Went through 2 new batteries

2. Performed self test

3. Performed Z-Wave connectivity test

4. Unplugged HCL and puggled it again.

What can i do more? What should i do? I still recieve the notifications and the smoke sensor emits a beep once in a while (more than 20 min, i don't know exactly).

Thank you

Hi @satori,

First of all, change the battery again and do the soft reconfiguration. So you will not lose your device ID.

If this doesn't help reset will probably help, but that will cause the change of its ID.

    Thank you for your suggestion. How can i do that, all the configure options say that i'll lose device ID?

    Soft reconfiguration:

    ID also remain unchanged,

    Where is that option?

    In device params i have:

    The device will perform a complete reconfiguration by removing and adding to the Z-Wave network. ID, the parameters and settings (name, assign it to the room, associations) will be lost.

    It should be located below.

    If you do not see the option below, you may have the wrong or corrupted device template. Furthermore, you should update your Home Center to the newest version.

    @satori,

    Do you have your Home Center on the latest version of firmware?

    Yes, 4.140. And i checked the software updates of the sensor and it's up to date.

    I reconfigured the device (not soft) and still i have the battery low notification. This is frustrating. What else can i do?

    @satori,

    Please:

    1) remove the device from your Z-Wave network

    2) reset the device (smoke sensor)

    3) add it again

    Hi, @Ace02!

    Did you try to do actions mentioned above?

    @I.Srodka No not yet.. I do not want to reset, exclude and re-include if this does not help.. Therefore the question to Satori...

    But if you are convinced it will work I will give it a try later today..

    Thanks for the replay.

    Hi, I cannot be sure whether it helps or not but every case is and Z-Wave network configuration is different so even if it will help Satori or not, it can still give different results in your case ; - )

    @I.SrodkaJust tried your suggestion and it worked for all three smoke sensors.. But just a question.. Do i have to do this procedure in the future also? or will this be fixed in some kind of an update?

    I now have to update scenes and everything because of this..

    I had to remove, reset and add it again, there was no way around it. Sorry for the late answer. I wish Fibaro would do something to resolve this for the future.
