Fibaro Double Switch

So i have a ceiling fan with a light. The switch on the wall control power to the fan and light only (the switch goes off the fan and light both go out). I have an idea of putting a Fibaro Double switch into the ceiling fan canopy to control the fan and light separately. I do know that when the fan does come on it will only be at one speed basically what ever the speed the fan was running at before the power went off. Please any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated if it won't work please let me know.
