minimote not triggering ..

Hi,

I dusted off my minimote and can't seem to get it to trigger from a button press

HC2 running 4.140

It included okay

It created 8 parameters (241 to 248), I left these at factory default

 

I used my usual CentralSceneEvent code

When I press one of the remote buttons the Web UI displays 'Scene Activation !' or 'Scene Activation 2' etc depending on the button pressed

Do I need to adjust any of the parameters or could somebody that has it working post their code

That didn't work either but a bit of fiddling got it to work

Looking back at it now what worked for me is not a million miles from what you provided or what I had before .. so I'm not sure whats going on.

 

Its working now and thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

is it possible that you share what you did to make it work? Thank you.

 

Code I provided is working with Fibaro dimmer 2 when scene activation is enabled on 4.140 so I was little bit surprised when you wrote that this is depreciated with CentralSceneActivation. Where did you find this information? Was it published officially or it came from someone here on forum?

A little lost in translation

I was asking more than informing as I couldn't get SceneActivation to work at the start but it works now

I'll send on the code that worked with the minimote later

Not really "deprecated". For forward and backward compatibility devices (including controllers) can support both (there is even a 3rd  older scene command!). The MiniMote is too old to support "central scene event". Maybe, purely theoretically, they could release a new firmware. But releasing firmware is still such a rare event in 2017 that I celebrate it with champagne and biscuits. Assuming, of course, that I have the right "dongle" to do OTA and I feel like excluding and including my device. Because, as we all *know*, updating a device through usb is *really difficult* and OTA s *very easy*. Sorry for the mild sarcasm

Hi @AutoFrank,

 

Sorry for misunderstanding from my side. All this with scene activation and scene events would be much easier if Fibaro can write some explanation and instructions how to use. I haven't seen anything about that on developer site.

 

Anyway, I'm happy that it works now!
