Setting and Getting Global Variables

Question

Posted

Hi,

I want to set two global variables in two separate Lua scenes.

I then want to access those global variables in another scene.

Scene 1: Set Wake Up Hour

--[[
%% properties
%% events
%% globals
--]]
fibaro:setGlobal('WakeUpHour', '06');

Scene 2: Set Wake Up Minute

--[[
%% properties
%% events
%% globals
--]]
fibaro:setGlobal('WakeUpMinute', '30');

Scene 3: Use variables WakeUpHour and WakeUpMinute to trigger scene and open some roller shutters/blinds.

--[[
%% autostart
%% properties
%% weather
%% events
%% globals
WakeUp
--]]

local currentDate = os.date("*t");
fibaro:debug(fibaro:getGlobalValue('WakeUpHour') )
fibaro:debug('Wake Up Hour = ' .. fibaro:getGlobalValue('WakeUpHour') )
fibaro:debug('Wake Up Minute  = ' .. fibaro:getGlobalValue('WakeUpMinute') )

if
  (
   string.format("%02d", currentDate.hour) .. ":" .. string.format("%02d", currentDate.min) == fibaro:getGlobalValue("WakeUpHour") + ":" + fibaro:getGlobalValue("WakeUpMinute")
   and  tonumber(fibaro:getGlobalValue("WakeUp")) == tonumber("1")
  )
then
  (
    fibaro:call(53, "open");
    fibaro:call(56, "open");
    fibaro:sleep (10000)
    fibaro:call(222, "open");
...etc

  )
end

The getGlobalVariables keep returning nil

Can you help this coding newbie to understand what is going on with setting and getting Global Variables.

In Scene 3 there should be :

Please login or register to see this code.

then the scene is triggered whenever any of the global variables WakeUpMinute  or  WakeUpHour is updated
