Fibaro heat controller reporting low battery just after being charged

XanderF

Question

I just bought a Fibaro heat controller as a replacement of the Popp radiator thermostat. Before installing it I fully charged it. The device started blinking green after just 30 minutes or so. I installed it and the other day the HC2 reported the battery was empty!? Hmm, ok. I recharged it, but the HC2 keeps saying it's empty even though there is a notification the device is fully charged.

I expect it to last months, not just a day. Is it broken?

exclude it, recharge the battery, set to factory default and re-included it (unsecure).

Btw, what fw version do you have on HC2?

Hi @XanderF,

There were some changes in the latest betas for the FIBARO Heat Controller.

So you can try beta version or wait for the stable 4.150 which should be released soon ; )

  • I'm using version 4.140. I've added a second Fibaro Heat controller which is operating fine. So it does not seem to be a HC2 issue. I'll try to exclude, recharge and include again. I'll post the result here later.

still, to get full support you should use at least 4.142, better 4.144

Why? 4.140 is the latest stable version. I do not install betas.

Anyway, I removed the device and added it again and now it working fine. Does not give much confidence however, but have seen weirder things :)

let me repeat: to get full support you should use at least 4.142, better 4.144. You can wait as well for next stable release.

Because we developed and released FIBARO Heat Controller around the time of 4.140, not everything was included.

Full support will be in the stable release in December (4.150) ; )
