Hi all, I have two Samsung TVs which refuse to be discovered by the Samsung Fibaro plugin. Even inputing the IP address does not see the televisions discovered.

I'm in Australia and using a Fritzbox modem.

Thanks in anticipation

hi @oraserat,

please give details about your Samsung TVs.

The plugin works only for old Samsung TVs ... like 2013 and older.

Yep, tv's with Tizen OS don't work. :(

Thanks for your prompt replies. That is likely the problem as I have a JU6400 which was released in 2015 and an even newer Samsung manufactured this year.

Is there any alternative to integrate the later Tvs into Fibaro please?

unfortunately not. I own myself a JU Series TV.

The best bet will be to use an IR extender and integrate that one into the Homecenter.

Here is the Samsung TV thread. Just for reference, if you want to take a dive in it.

in there I linked a command line utility some guy has tinkered together. Which works but not from within fibaro, at least i have no clue how it could.

There are APPs and Tools around that can remote control the TVs over WLAN, but the integrated security and non public API makes it very hard.

Compared to how easy it is to use IP2IR it simpliy isn't worth the effort. Just search for IP2IR in the forum here.

I think Samsung has abandoned the Tizen on newer TVs and goes towards Android TV.

My next TV will definitly be checked for remote wirless access posibilities before I buy it.

    I use this device

to control my Philips TV and IPTV and it works nice. It has ability to learn all IR codes from remote controls so it can practically control any appliance that has IR remotes.

Just recently I had to replace IPTV box because my provider upgraded quality of their streaming content. It took me about an hour to learn all codes and reprogram virtual remote on my HC2.
