LUA editing on iOS

Question

Posted

Is it just me, or is Lua editing on iOS (safari) a real pain? Both on my iPhone and iPad it is really horrible to move the cursor around properly when using the web interface to do some small Lua tweaks... Does anyone have a proper solution for this? (e.g. a more compatible browser?)

It is a pain. First you have to stop automatic help for spelling as it change words or characters as you write. Furthermore, you cannot mark and copy text. Or more correctly, you can with some experience mark and copy the text but you cannot insert what is copied.

There is not a workaround as far as I know as the gesture feature of IOS is interfering with how the Fibaro program accept cursor movement.

Many people think they can do everything on their phones or tablets. The industry hopes to have processors small and cool enough for tablets to compete with the low-end laptops and desktops of today in 5 to 10 years time. On top of that: who on earth wants to work on a tiny screen without the convenience of a real mouse, easy copy/paste and real powerful applications available at a mouse click ?

Why would you want to do any serious travel in a Fiat 500 if you have a Porsche Panamera parked next to it ?

We have a clearly different vision on life then ;)

The convenience of debugging or quickly implementing an alternative approach or new scene on an iPad (instead of grabbing your laptop) is evident to me at least.

Of course, when it comes to more extensive coding, I fully agree with you.
